Hey loves. Happy Thursday. Where has the week gone. I am still recuperating from our weekend of camping, playing catch up on so many things, and trying to get ahead. All while also having a full calendar this week and add some craziness. The week has gotten ahead of me with so much going on. I haven't had a minute to sit and relax and do something for myself. Just when I think we are getting into a good schedule we are thrown for a loop.

Friday September 11
I spent the day grocery shopping and packing to get everything ready to go camping as soon as Anna got off the bus. We went to Hidden Acres campground in West Salem Ohio. I grew up going to this campground quite often and loved going here as a kid. It has been at least 25 years since I have been back.
We left a little after 4 and got to the campground by 530. Set up the site then the kids were starving. We made chicken Philly's on "day old" Jimmy John's bread with diced red skin potatoes. It turned out good. Next time we are going right after school we need to pick a dinner that is less time consuming. We had also originally planned to get the potatoes on the fire but there wasn't time to get the fire hot for the potatoes with starving kids.
After dinner the kids went on a bike ride. It didn't go so well. This was their first time riding their bikes on gravel. Austin fell 3 times, and Anna fell twice. Anna cut up her knee and had road rash down her whole side. A couple of ladies on a golf cart stopped to make sure they were ok, which I thought was so sweet.
After a few minutes they wanted to go check out the playground. They took off on their bikes again and Brian and I went for a small walk. They were not impressed with the playground (which was not here when I was growing up). There was only one swing most of the other stuff was broken.
We got back to the camper and Anna needed to wash her feet so Brian took her to the water spicket and found a little friend.
It was a beautiful quiet evening with so many stars.
And a nice relaxing fire. The kids were in the camper and ready for bed by 9, I stayed out until 10 (which is late for me) and Brian stayed out longer.
Saturday September 12
We slept in a little until like 730. Brian made bacon burritos on the griddle outside.
While he was cooking the kids got antsy and went for a bike ride.
While eating breakfast the kids pointed out the nest and web at the campsite across from us. I took a picture and used chat gpt to determine the web is from caterpillars.
By 10 am it started raining and was supposed to rain most of the day. We hung out some in the camper and played some games then hopped in the truck and headed to Grandpa's cheese barn.
We each picked out one thing at the chocolate barn- Austin, Brian, and myself got fudge, and Anna got chocolate covered pretzel sticks. Did you know fudge is meant to be left on the counter and can last up to 8 weeks? I did not know this, we always stored ours in the fridge growing up and it got thrown away after a week.
The kids found a cute little play store between the cheese bar and the chocolate barn. I let them play for a little bit while Brian started looked at all the cheese.
In the cheese barn Brian picked out 3 cheeses and we got two hand pies.
It was still raining when we left I wasn't able to get a good picture.
Brian found a local winery to check out. We tried a bunch of samples and bought a bottle. Thankfully they had some games for the kids to play.
I have never been served a beer in a wine glass either. They also make their own beer and ciders.
They both had fun even if their faces don't show it.
After lunch we headed back to the campground. It had stopped raining for now. We made sub sandwiches for lunch with chips.
Don't we all travel with a 55 inch TV while camping? Brian brought our outdoor TV to be able to watch the Ohio State game. Thankfully the weather cleared and he was able to watch outside because there was no good place to put it inside.
Anna found her own frog
and even acted like she was going to kiss it.
We ended the night having a fire and watching the OSU football game.
Sunday September 13
An early morning. We were all up before 7. Brian made bagels with cream cheese for breakfast. We finished packing up and we at the dump station before 9.
We took a different way home since we were running late. Austin had a baseball game at 10. I swear Brian will find some dirt road without edge lines everywhere we go.
We got home a few minutes before 10. Brian and Austin headed to baseball while Anna and I unpacked the camper and started all the laundry.
At 1 we headed to our neighbors house for the Browns game. Ended the night around 8 with showers and off to bed.
