Catch Up Weekend Recap

Hey friends. Happy Monday. We had a great weekend I am ready for the week ahead. I was productive on Sunday, when Audrianna would let me put her down, and prepared for this upcoming week.

~ Friday  ~

Friday started off a little rough. They say everything happens for a reason. I don't normally park my van behind Brian since we have a double wide driveway. But since it was Halloween the night before I did so Trick or Treaters could walk up our driveway. The few times that I have parked behind Brian he will maneuver his way out without having to move my van. For whatever reason that morning I asked him to move my van back up by the house so I didn't have such a far walk in the rain and cold with the baby. He went to go move my van and it wouldn't start. I had a dead battery. We knew it was going but put off getting a battery. We tried jumping it but it still didn't start. Brian ended up going to buy a new battery and came home and put it in and it worked. This put Brian behind two hours of his day, luckily the appointment he had that morning was able to be pushed back.
I had no plans during the day on Friday besides lots of cuddles and staying warm.

After school play time. Ella has been awesome at playing with Audrianna and keeping her entertained for a little bit so I can get some things done.

Friday night was our first Girl Scout field trip. We went to a local nature center. The girls earned an outdoors badge and made a bird house. Our girls, who were the youngest of the girls there, were so well behaved and had a lot of fun.
We were gone for about 3 hours. This was the longest time that I had been away from Audrianna. She did pretty well. Slept part of it, played some, screamed a lot, and put herself to sleep wimpering. She is still refusing a bottle and we have tried 3 different brands, breast milk over formula in a bottle. She is still stubborn. I got back changed and feed her.

~ Saturday ~

Saturday morning I actually got up before Audrianna. I am sitting in the living room and hear Austin talking to someone. I go check on him, he is having a conversation with Audrianna. She was giggling and smiling.

Saturday was the funeral procession for a local volunteer fire fighter that died while on a call trying to save someone. We took the kids to see it. It is very sad but we like to show our support. It was also a great talking point for our kids since Brian puts his life on the line every time he goes to work as an auxiliary Police Officer. It is really hard to explain to kids what happened and what all this means. But by showing them how important someones life is, explain how important their job is, and by seeing all the firefighters and police officers that showed up from all over helps a little. We pray that we are never in their family and friends shoes.

After the processional we stopped by Goodwill to drop off 3 bags of clothes. It was Good Turn Day for Girl Scouts. Each girl that donated 3 bags of clothes got a patch. Then we headed home to feed Audrianna.

Then I surprised Ella with a little mother daughter date. It started with Starbucks and Target. I am going to be so sad when Starbucks gets rid of the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew.
While at Target Ella looks at items that she wants to put on her Christmas list. A few years ago we started the tradition of taking pictures of the stuff the kids what to ask Santa or family members for. It makes it easier to show someone a picture and have them go purchase it. After Target we headed to the local craft store A.C.Moore. Ella had a gift card from her birthday that she wanted to buy some craft supplies with, aka colored pins is what she ended up getting.

Our last stop was Wendy's for a light late lunch. The service was horrible. But the food was good. I got some avocado salad that so delicious. Then it was back home to feed a princess.

Dinner on Saturday was homemade potato soup that we had thrown in the crock pot earlier in the day. Brian added carrots and celery which gave it a nice crunch.

Ella volunteered to changed Audrianna's diaper. When she offered she didn't realize that Audrianna had gone poop. Luckily it wasn't messy and she did a good job. Then it was bath time for Audrianna and Ella helped me wash her body. She is being such an awesome helpful big sister.

We finally remember we had pumpkin cheesecake in the freezer that we had bought at Trader Joes a few weeks back. It was good, but rich.

Saturday night was day light savings, we fall back and gain an hour. This only works when you don't have kids. I was mentally preparing to wake up at 5:30 with my princess.

~ Sunday  ~

Audrianna surprisingly didn't wake up until 6:30, at the same time Austin decided he wanted to get up too. My kids don't know what sleeping in is, but I will take the cuddles.

I cleaned this exersaucer my mom bought for Audrianna on the Facebook Marketplace.

She is still a little to small for it but she enjoyed sitting in it for a few minutes.

Sunday mornings are my favorite with bacon, pancakes, and coffee.

Most of the day I was lazy. Audrianna was very cuddly. I think since I had left her 4 times this past week she just wanted her mom and was afraid I was going to run away again. She did let me take down the Halloween decorations, put up the Fall/Thanksgiving decorations, and get some cleaning done around the house.

I felt like Audrianna was eating a lot so I made my superfoods shake. It is packed with lots of vitamins, pre and pro biotics, digestive enzymes and more. Plus I added collagen and brewers yeast. This all helps to boost my breast milk.

The rest of the night consisted of football, relaxing, Christmas movies, leftover soup for dinner, early bedtimes for the kids, and a relaxing bubble bath for me.

Now bring on Monday and the first full week of the month.

  1. My husband is a volunteer in the fire department. It is wonderful that you showed your support to your community, even though I know it is hard.
