Hey loves. Happy Wednesday. The month is almost over and boy am I ready for a new month already. This year has been a very rough start that we never anticipated and would never wish anyone. With that there have been some great moments of family time and more.
It's that time for Whats Up Wednesday with Shay, and Sheaffer. On the last Wednesday of every month we are all invited to share a little bit everything that has been going on for the past month.
On the last week of August here's whats up...
~ WHAT I AM EATING THIS WEEK ~

Tuesday - Steak Tacos
Wednesday - Teriyaki Salmon with cauliflower rice and mixed veggies
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Local Take Out- Unami Rice Bowls
Saturday - Pineapple Kielbasa Bowls
~ WHAT I AM REMINISCING ABOUT ~
A great man has gained his wings and is up in heaven looking down on us. Brian's dad passed away the beginning of this month. 6 of the 7 kids were able to make it home to say their last goodbyes. We spent a good 5 days together sharing stories, and memories. He didn't want a funeral instead a huge party for him. This summer when all the family can get together again (family ranges from Boston to Florida, to San Diego, Seattle and more.) we will have a Celebration of his life like Rexford wanted. (Austin got his middle name Rex from Brian's dad).
~ WHAT I AM LOVING ~
Anna has been great with giving love, cuddles, and kisses the last few weeks. It is when you least expect it but you really need it.
It isn't very often that Ella and Anna get to hug before school. It's the hang on the cheek that melts my heart.
My new favorite everyday wear fleece. I literally have been wearing it everyday. It is so soft and cozy. (yes it has been washed too) as a coat, and around the house. I am wearing size large. use code AdrienneP10 to save 10%
Along with the fleece I am loving the Simple Modern 40 oz tumbler I got for Christmas. I have been hitting my water goals better since getting a new fun cup. I love that it keeps my water cold, fits in a cup holder, and has a handle.
Vanilla Snow is the perfect, lightly scented candle. I got it for Christmas, I think it is from Aldi but the sticker was taken off.
~ WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO ~
Enjoying the sunshine as much as we can.
Austin is playing basketball again this season and Brian is the coach. They are both loving it. I am patiently waiting for basketball pictures to come back but this is the picture I took before hand. When did he get so handsome and older. Oh and Austin got glasses right before Christmas.
We checked out the RV show. No we are not planning on getting a camper this year, maybe next year. We needed out of the house and it was something fun to do. The kids had a lot of fun too.
I have started off the year making a master declutter list and have started tackling area's. I started with the kitchen- fridge, freezer, pantry, and some of the drawers. I also went through all of Austin's clothes and put away clothes that are two big and got rid of clothes that are two small.
We have been playing lots of games. One of Anna's favorites is looney tunes dominos. You can read about some of our other family favorite games too.
Another weekend, another show at the Cleveland IX center. This time we went to the boat show. No we have no intentions of getting a boat. For the price and the three months that you can really use a boat in Ohio it is not worth it. But we all had fun walking around checking out the boats. I never realized how expensive these boats were either.
Ella had two appointments for hearing test, of which she did not pass either. She was diagnosed with moderate permanent hearing loss in her left ear. We see more doctors next month to see if they can figure out where the hearing loss came from, it is genetic, is it progressing or staying the same etc. A new adventure.
A girlfriend talked me into taking Anna to open gym at a gymnastics studio. She had so much fun running around for a little over an hour. I can see us doing this every other week now.
If the temps are above 50 we are outside enjoying it as much as we can. We got in one family walk this month.
Anna played in the snow, even though she didn't have on her snow suit. She didn't listen very well, but its ok she had fun.
Anna had an appointment with a pediatric dietician. The concern was her weight was in the less than 1% for kids her age. We have been focusing on trying to get her to gain some weight. Since November she has gained 2 lbs (yay), which they are happy about. They want us to now start eliminating the fast food and see if she maintains her weight gain then some. We have a goal for another pound by her birthday in July.
~ WHAT I AM DREADING ~
Next month Ella has to have a tooth pulled (its a baby tooth that has been loose forever and causing issues), she has to see her peds ENT for her hearing lose. Austin had an ultrasound and follow up from his kidney surgery. Next month is crazy with appointments for the kids.
~ WHAT I AM WORKING ON ~
I have not been sharing as much about my other love- my virtual wellness community but I am still doing it, connecting women with online workouts, products, and programs, resources, and support from an amazing community. I have switched my mindset from being all about total solutions and now really focusing on what each person needs. If you only want the workouts- great, just want shakes-awesome, need a spin bike- i got you, want to try some preworkout- i have samples. Send me a message if you would like more details.
~ WHAT I AM EXCITED ABOUT ~
Snow, we are suppose to be getting a few more inches of snow the next few days. The kids want to go sledding and build a snowman.
~ WHAT I AM WATCHING ~
Nothing. I haven't touched the tv in a while. I still have Christmas movies to catch up. I just haven't been in the mood for TV or the time.
~ WHAT I AM READING ~
Just grabbed Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner from the library.
~ WHAT I AM LISTENING TO ~
Frozen and Frozen 2 soundtracks on repeat. Thanks Anna.
~ WHAT I AM WEARING ~
My new favorite everyday wear fleece. I literally have been wearing it everyday. It is so soft and cozy. (yes it has been washed too) as a coat, and around the house. I am wearing size large. use code AdrienneP10 to save 10%
~ WHAT WE ARE DOING THIS WEEKEND ~
Hopefully a successful date night. Last weekend Anna wanted nothing to do with staying at Memaw's while the older two were at Grandma's. This weekend Ella is at her dads so we are sending Anna and Austin to Memaw's for take two.
~ WHAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH ~
We finally got our hot water tank moved in the basement. Now I can reorganize, and purge. Brian is in the process of framing walls for the kids craft/toy room. So much exciting stuff slowly happening downstairs to give us more space and the kids room.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
That does sound like a busy month of appointments; but I hope they all go well!

DeleteI am looking for a good water tumbler which has times written on it so I know how much water to drink throughout the day. And I really like that sweatshirt.
ReplyDeleteI use to have a few different water bottles that had times but didn't do well with having to refill
DeleteHope all the kids' appointments go well - and especially that you get answers about the concerns you have. I love the sweatshirt, it looks so cozy and warm!
ReplyDeletethank you
