Friday Favorites Vacation Mode

Hey friends. We made it to Friday. We are home from my mini vacation and Brian's work trip. Even with flying around a tropical storm, tornadoes at home, and all the rain we had a wonderful time together without the kids. Parents need to make their relationship a priority too. Surprisingly I as on facetime with my parents at the same time that Tornado sirens started going off, we got the kids to the basement, and then lost connection. A few large branches hit our house and a piece broke off our chimney. Thankfully we only lost power and internet briefly. The rest of our city has not been so lucky and power is set to not be back on for up to a week. Prayers it doesn't take that long but there is a lot of tree downs, power lines done, and damage all around.

Time for some Friday Favorites with these lovely ladies: Erika, and Andrea.

Before we left we spent the day with the kids. We grabbed lunch from Dave's Cosmic Subs which was so good. It was my first time having it. The kids also ate it too. We split a large turkey sub without the sauce between the kids. Then Brian and I shared a smaller turkey sub with everything.

We had heard about an addition to a local playground that we love that has a tree house that was ada compliant and we were excited to check it out. To me it was a big disappointment. First the elevator for the wheel chairs was already broken and it has only been opened about a month. (Even though we don't need the elevator it is just a note that if we had needed it then to be turned away). They had stairs to club also and on the top of the treehouse was just a large space with an outlook. Nothing else. Just not what I expected.
We also went for a little walk and the kids played at the playground for a while. Anna just didn't want to stop running for a picture.

We left on Sunday for Orlando. As soon as we pulled into the airport we got a notification that our plane was delayed by 2 hours. We decided to still go in instead of going home and going back up, we only live 10 minutes from the airport. Thankfully we did because our play was not delayed 2 hours it was only an hour. While we waited I had the most expensive delicious mimosa. Brian had a $20 bloody Mary that was nothing special. But it did relax us and we enjoyed our time without kids.

For dinner on the first night we went to Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge. Before we left we explored and found a giraffe close to the hotel. There were also zebra's antelope and pelicans. It was neat to see so close and know if you had a room overlooking the safari you would have these outside your room each night.

~ FOUR ~

Dodging rain drops we did some resort hopping. We went from Polynesian to the Wilderness Lodge. To do that we took a book to Magic then another boat to Wilderness Lodge. Each Disney resort is so unique and beautiful in their own ways. This is something I have always wanted to do but isn't always easy to do with kids and strollers.

Look where we ended up!!!!

Brian and his nephew who works at Disney World surprised me with a day at Epcot. We rode 10 out of 11 rides at the parks, at way to much food and ended the night with fireworks.

In case you missed, here's a quick look at the blog this week:
