Hey friends. How was your weekend? We had a somewhat low key weekend but still did a lot. Maybe one day I will get a weekend with no plans and just curl up and read a whole book, I am thinking after soccer season is maybe this will happen. This morning started off rough and busy and running on very little sleep. Things haven't gone as planned but I am not going to let that ruin my day/week. I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday and sharing my weekend recap.
Friday
Last week I slept in and worked out later in the day after the kids went to school. Friday was no different, but it did throw off my day of grocery shopping and getting other things done before a date night.
After I did things around the house, worked out, and took a shower I finally went grocery shopping. It was around 12:30. I recorded a video for youtube sharing my grocery haul and "bad vibe experience."
Long story short- Two guys throughout the store seemed to be following me, to close for comfort, always where I was... It made me super uncomfortable. I watched my back the rest of the trip, drove in a million circles on my way home, and now we are going to check my car for a tracking device after a new article of a local break in for a very scary similar circumstance and talking with my best friend who is a local cop. It is sad that now a days we have to be even more extra cautious and aware of our surroundings. I will be switching up where I am shopping and not going to the same store or doing Instacart for a while.
I did find peppermint cold foam that I am so excited about.
Ella had a sleepover at her friends, Austin and Anna had a sleepover at Grandma's. Brian and I had a date night. It started with dinner at The Harp near Ohio City. It was small low key but delicious. I got a turkey Reuben.
Brian got some corn beef potato pancake thing that he enjoyed.
After dinner our friend is a well known photographer who is opening a new studio. He had a soft opening for friends and family. He studio has so much potential I loved his vision with it. While there we watched the Cleveland Guardians game (which they lost), enjoyed some apps and drinks and lots of talking with friends. It was a much needed adult night.
Saturday
Sleeping in with no kids on a Saturday morning is wonderful. I slept until about 8, while Brian was getting ready to leave for work. I had a relaxing quiet morning. Then I headed to pick up Anna and Austin from their sleepover at Grandmas.
Then it was off to soccer. Anna packed her own clothes and I grabbed her soccer gear. I didn't think about grabbing a shirt to wear under her jersey knowing that she always picks dresses herself. Even with a dress on she played well and was focused on the game.
After soccer I picked Ella up from her sleepover at a friends. Then my girlfriend brought her two daughters over for a little playdate and haircuts. The kids played for a while then they had other plans. Anna curled up on the couch with me and we cuddled watching some tv as she snacked on pretzels.
I also dyed Ella's hair. She wanted purple ends. It is more noticeable in person compared to the picture, especially when the sun hits it. She was happy with it. I used a semi permanent so it will gradually fad with washing and can apply again as needed.
Saturday was Sweetest Day. Brian went to the grocery shop to buy a few ingredients for the chili for Sunday. He surprised me with some flowers and beer.
After dinner Ella and I went thrift shopping. She wanted a few new sweaters/sweatshirts. She got a few, I got a few and I found this official Disney Parks Snow White ornament.
Sunday
Up early again to get ready and head to church. It was a "loud" service with all the kids being in moods, not just my kids. The nursery attendant wasn't there so all the kids stayed with their parents in the back of the church (there are tables and glass doors that close off some of the noise to the front but you are able to see and hear everything through speakers). After the service we had another quick service outside at the new Peace pavilion where we gave a blessing. The kids were wild there too.
After church Brian headed off to show some houses. The kids and I went home to get ready for the Browns game. I baked sourdough corn bread, cut up Artesian bread, and heated up the chili. The kids also got showers and got clothes ready for the week ahead.
The day ended up being gorgeous. I had a delicious whiskey sour with egg whites.
The kids had fun riding in the wagon of the tractor. (they were on low going pretty slow and did awesome)
It was a fun time even with the Browns losing. The ladies chatted and watched The Craft and Practical Magic while the guys had a fine. We got home around 8 in time for bed.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
It is sad we all have to be super cautious when we're out and about. Hopefully the followers were just a coincidence, but it's unsettling all the same. I saw your crock pot alfredo recipe too. Going to share that one with my daughter as that's her favorite. Have a nice week!
