Monthly Musing January 2025

Hey loves. A quick post today and linking up with Monthly Musings for some Winter Self-Care with  Patty and Holly. It true life fashion, this week isn't going as planned with a sick child at home. Hopefully she doesn't spread the germs to everyone.

1- What do you do to stay warm in the winter?

Stay inside, layer up, have a fire, drink warm liquids, use an electric blanket, and keep the curtains closed to keep more warmth in the house.

2- Favorite wintertime activity?

Staying inside by the fire either curled up with a book or playing a board game with my kids.

3- Any different beauty routines in the winter?

All the moisturizer. I use a daily one in the morning and a deep moisturizer at night on my face, lips, and hands.

4- Skating, sledding, or skiing?

No thank you. I am not one to be out in the cold, but if I had to pick I would go sledding with my kids.

5- Favorite winter recipes?

All the comfort foods and soups. Sausage tortellini soup is a family favorite. This weekend I am making Swedish meatballs

6- Favorite winter hot beverage?

Hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. I can't just pick one.

7- Best Winter memories?

Growing up I remember getting all bundled up and just going outside to play in the snow and build snowmen and make snow angels.

8- Coldest day that you remember?

Last week when it felt like -25 out. We all stayed inside. I also remember a day at least 10 years ago when I was still working at the salon. We went out back and did the hot water in a mug trick when you throw the water and it terms to mist.

9- How are you practicing self care this winter?

More time reading and relaxing by the fire. We try to not be on the go as much.

10- Flannel sheets... yes or no?

If I got to pick I would say yes flannel sheets, I am also cold and they are so cozy to crawl into. Brian is the opposite and he is hot so we don't have flannel sheets. We do have an electric blanket that I always use.

  2. We did the snowmaking trick one year too but I boiled up a huge pot of water so the boys would be able to really see it. It was wild! (Though I was terrified I was going to burn one of us; thankfully it was a success).
