Hey loves. It is a 3 post day. Be sure to check out my meal plan for the week, and Share Our Lives monthly link-up.
How was your weekend? Did you watch the Superbowl? What did you think of the half time show? I didn't watch much of the game, it was a weird day and I wasn't impressed with the halftime show.
I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend.
Friday
I picked Ella up at our normal 6 am. At 543, a few minutes after I had already left the house Ella's dad texted me to let me know that she wasn't feeling good the night before. She still wasn't feeling any better, hadn't slept, had body aches etc when I brought her home. She went upstairs and went back to bed. She is the last one in the house to get sick in the past two weeks. It has been crazy we all have gotten some sort of sickness but all have different symptoms but the same.
After school Friday was pretty low key. Brian didn't get home from work until after 6, which is very unusual for him but right now he is busy with showings. As a realtor there are busy times and slow times and right now he is busy with showing buyers houses.
Anna and Austin came home from school emptied their book bags and lunch box and went straight to playing then had their one hour on the tablet playing Roblox. (they don't get tablets on school nights and have one hour limit a day unless we extend it which normally we do)
Original plan for dinner was homemade pizza, but our neighbors were over on Thursday night and the kids had Sam's Club pizza, we still had leftovers and I wasn't really feeling pizza. Instead I made sheet pan salmon with asparagus and potatoes. I had actually pulled the salmon on Thursday to make for dinner, but plans changed.
I used Golden Steer table 40 season blend on the veggies and salmon. Brian didn't know I used a blend and was very impressed with how it turned out.
After dinner Brian made the kids a fort again. This time there was more of a maze to get to the sleeping quarters.
Saturday
No early morning plans meant I could sleep in, and that means until 715. I was laying in bed just scrolling when Ella text me that she wanted some apple juice but the alarm (our home security system) was still on and she couldn't get the juice out of the garage. I got her a drink and took her temp. She was 102.4. Time for meds and more rest for her.
Brian headed off to work, the kids played on their tablets for an hour then played Barbie's and cars. I did a little straightening up around the house, did my mindset morning, read a little while my pre-workout kicked in, and headed downstairs for my 23 minute workout. It was leg day and I am still feeling it two days later.
Austin had a rec basketball game at his home court, compared to the last two weeks have been at a neighboring city. Our city doesn't allow you to play travel ball and rec. The neighboring city we were playing against encourages you to play rec if you are on travel. Last week the team we played against was all travel kids (who get a lot more practice and play all year) and we lost horribly. The kids felt defeated. This week was a lot closer in skill level and the kids actually had fun.
After basketball we went home, Austin got a shower, Anna and Austin had lunch then I took them to my parents house for a sleepover.
I didn't stay long because it had started to snow and ice. We were in a winter weather warning. I took the back roads instead of the highway. What usually takes about 35 minutes took me closer to an hour to get home. With 20 minutes after I left they were complaining they were hungry so my mom fed them an early dinner (of which they ended up just eating all night because they eat for Grandma and she has better food).
Anna had her own personal play mate aka Memaw. They played with the kitchen, colored, and more.
Austin played with cars and trains and on Papaw computer.
Girls Night Casino Fundraiser for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
My girlfriend invited me to Girls Night. There were 7 of us at the fundraiser then we walked over to the bar where Brian and a few other friends met us at. We had a fun night.
Sunday I had a lazy morning. I didn't sleep well and had a little too much to drink. Brian went to church and he had a meeting at the church right after service. He came home changed and went to work. I slowly got ready and went and picked up Anna and Austin from my parents.
When we got home I took a nap and woke up feeling so much better. I gave Anna a shower then we went to our neighbors house for the Superbowl around 4. By 630 Anna was ready to go home and lay down, she had woken up at 530 at her sleepover and wouldn't take a nap with me earlier.
Ella's fever finally broke on Sunday and she started munching on crackers and muffins.
How was your weekend?

ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes I had a blast it was much needed time away from my kids.
DeleteMy daughter and her family are living with us temporarily following an overseas move, while they house hunt. Her whole family has had some version of the flu. My hubs and I missed it and I did get a flu shot and wonder if that helped? Who knows. My other daughter visited with her kids the first week her sister was home and she brought a stomach bug which she shared with me-ugh! Hope everyone is feeling better!
