Hello Monday on a Tuesday

Hey loves. Happy Tuesday. We are counting down our last few days of school. We have two more left. Is anyone else's kids still in school? I feel like we are the only ones.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend.

Friday

Starting the morning off strong on National Donut day with some donuts. I was already out before 6am to pick up Ella. The only place open was Dunkin.

I need protein with my carbs.

After the kids headed off to school I deep cleaned Austin's room. (I had done Anna's room earlier in the week) It took me a good hour and a half and a garbage bag full later. Then I went to Costco and Trader Joes.

I got home in time to watch these two. Our neighbors were going away for the weekend and needed a dog sitter so we decided to keep them and give it a shot. It was a good learning experience for everyone and the realization of how much work a pet is and my kids (minus Ella) are not ready for that responsibility.
Not even 2 minutes after their owners left the puppy peed and pooped in the kitchen. (He was outside before he came too). Then about an hour later the puppy snuck out the door while I was putting a lease on the other dog and ran away. It was a long 2 and a half hour chasing the puppy to catch him. Thankfully he ran home and ended up in his backyard (that is fenced in, our yard is not). Once he got tired out we were able to put get him in his cage and take him back to our house. I did call Brian home from work to help catch up. Every time we got close we tried to bite us, Brian did get bite one but his teeth are tiny and only did a little scratch.

After the kids got home from school my  parents came over to watch my kids and the dogs. Brian and I went to a wedding. Ella was great with the older dog, and the puppy they just left alone. The wedding we went to was interesting and it has been years since we went to a wedding. Traditions and things are so different. We didn't stay at the very long before we headed home.

The dogs ended up sleeping in our bed, as they sleep in their owners bed and just whined until we picked them up.

Saturday

My morning started off early with the one dog sitting on our bed, staring out the window at the birds. You just felt her presence. Ella also had to be dropped off at a Girl Scout camping event at 8am.

I came home to a slow morning with cuddles. The puppy and I now got along since she slept in our bed.

The kids also got a long with the dogs too. (Anna's hair looks short but it is not)

We had only one baseball game, then a relaxing day at home. I may have taken a nap while Brian worked.
Our other neighbor and her three kids were out for a walk and ended up at our house with the kids playing until bedtime.

Sunday

Early morning picking up Ella from Girl Scout camp before the rain started.

We spent the morning with more puppy snuggles

While Brian made pancakes and sausage for breakfast.

We opted to not go to church because Anna had baseball pictures at 11, and church was at 10. We would have had to leave early and I anticipated Anna being upset she didn't get to dance at the end.

After baseball Anna went to her friends house, Austin and Ella stayed home, Brian and I went flower shopping for our pots and yard. When we got home Austin went and played for a little while then he had baseball pictures. We all ended at our friends house to enjoy the sunshine and the kids playing outside.

We ended Sunday night with a relaxing night at home.

Another note on dog sitting- while we enjoyed having the dogs, the puppy stole Barbies and Anna just didn't understand. The puppy also fought you on going inside and even if you took him outside he still had accidents in the house. I will be spending today scrubbing all our carpets and sweeping and mopping the floors.
Brian is allergic to dogs and thankfully he didn't have any reactions but he did double up on allergy meds, but never needed his inhaler.
Maybe one day we will get a pet when my kids are older and responsible for cleaning up at them, take them outside, etc. I have enough on my personal plate I don't want to add another responsibility to it. Not having a fenced in yard is a huge thing and we have no intentions of fencing it in with our love of the wildlife.
