Hey loves. Happy Thursday. Its Time for Monthly Musings for August Musing with Patty and Holly.
1- Any back to school traditions?
This year I feel like back to school came in a blink of an eye and I was mentally unprepared. We didn't do back to school shopping until the middle of August (never again), open house was the night before school, and the bus came early on the first day. Usually we do a back to school Brinner the night before the first day, that didn't happen with open house. I got a couple of morning of pictures, but not all that I had planned. Everything worked out though. We ended up having a Back of School Brinner last night but I didn't do the theming just the food because we also had gymnastics thrown in for a make-up class.
2- How do you celebrate the first day of school?
We usually do a back to school Brinner in preparation for back to school. The day of school we have a low key day after that start of new routines and long days.
3- Favorite early fall/back to school meals?
Weeknight Lasagna is always a favorite in our house. All the slow cooker meals especially Spinach Tortellini Soup
4- What are your early go- to outfits for early fall?
This week has already felt like fall with temps in the 50s and 60s and rain. Cardigans, bootie shoes, leggings, and sweatshirts have been in the mix. I need to figure out more fall work clothes.
5- Do kids go back to school before or after Labor Day?
All the schools go back before Labor Day this year. There has been random years when a school will go back after Labor Day.
6- When do you start to decorate for early fall?
I use to decorate for Fall in September, Halloween in October, Thanksgiving in November, and Christmas in December. I have had a few random Halloween pumpkins up since July when I bought them, and a few more added in August. I will do full on decorating after Labor Day.
7- How do you get back into the fall routine?
Since my kids are still young and in school we get thrown back into the fall routine when school starts. Early mornings with some devotional time, usually a workout, and long days.
8- What are you most looking forward to this fall?
All things pumpkin. Starbucks and Dunkin both have pumpkin spice out and I haven't had one yet. I see this in my near future though.
9- Do you decorate for fall? If so when?
This year we are doing more Halloween than fall and will decorate after Labor Day.
10- What feels like fall to you?
The cooler temps, crisp mornings, cooler nights that are meant for a fire.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
