Hello Monday 10.24.2025

Hey loves. How was your weekend? How come whenever I think we are going to have a low key relaxing weekend we end up having a busy weekend? Anyone else? I really just want a weekend at home to curl up and read and watch somet Christmas movies, throw in playing a few games with the kids and cuddles.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend.

Friday

Brian's truck went into the shop to get an oil change leaving us with one vehicle and a crazy day. Brian ended up dropping me off at the elementary school to work the PTA book fair, I was originally supposed to work it from 9 to 12 but I was asked to work until 2 to help out the lady in charge had to go to the doctor. Brian also had showing during the day and had work to do at our church.
After I was done at the book fair, Brian picked me up and we went to pick up his truck. The kids came home from school all in good moods, until I told them they couldn't play with their friends because they were going out of town.
Brian had an men's group event from church event at a local brewery where every year they make a beer. The kids and I had a somewhat low-key night at home. They played games and I watched a Christmas movie.

Saturday

I told myself I was going to sleep in. My body said otherwise. I woke up at 506 and couldn't fall back asleep. Instead of laying there I got up and went downstairs and enjoyed some peace and quiet and got my Bible reading done for the day.

Everyone else in the house was awake around 7am. Brian ran to the bagel shop to grab bagels then came home and made breakfast sandwiches. After breakfast I trimmed Austin's hair, Brian went outside to do leaves, and I also straightened up the house and folded all the laundry.

Up next getting everyone ready to go to...

Cabela's (yes I know it says Bass Pro Shop). We had an appointment at 1130 to get pictures with Santa. Last year we waited until the weekend before Christmas and it was crazy busy. We planned ahead this year.

We made to do some window shopping and check out the fish after visiting with Santa. The Santa's at Cabela's have always been great, in a good mood and joking with my kids.

Now comes the craziness. Reminder it was Saturday and we took the whole family to Costco and Target. It honestly wasn't as bad as I anticipated. The sample areas at Costco were the worse, but the check out lines were quick. At Target we got a few more ideas for my kids Christmas lists (really it's all Lego and Barbies we are at that stage)

After shopping we needed lunch. Traffic was horrible and we ended up staying on the same side of town and stopping at Penn Station for lunch.

Ahead of schedule again this year and dropping off our letters to Santa. Usually we do it the weekend of Brian's birthday (December 8th) but since we were out that way already we got it done. Hopefully we get a letter back from Santa before Christmas this year.

Last stop of the day was to my parents house. Brian and my dad worked out winterizing the water lines in our motorhome as the kids played in the house.

Ella got to help put the huge tarp over the whole camper by climbing up on the roof. This use to be my job when we had a motorhome when I was growing up.

We are home. I don't know how or why I took a picture from one of our cameras but look at our beautiful green front yard with no leaves.

The rest of the evening was low key at home. Ella ended up going to a sleepover at her girlfriend's house. Anna and Austin had a fort built in one of their rooms for a sleepover too.

Brian switched out the lights on our garage for a local police officer who died at the young age of 42 from a heart attack. I grew up with him living down the street and he graduated with my sister. When Brian and I use to work at Dunkin Donuts he would come in 2-3 x a day getting to know the staff very well. He was one of the good guys and will truly be missed.

Sunday

Anna and Austin in their fort for their sleepover. Yes they are on a mattress because they are bougie like that.

It was a slow morning of getting ready for church and doing some cleaning around the house before we left.

Doesn't everyone get handed 3 lbs of bacon during church? No, just me. One of our members owns a farm and they raise pigs. Brian asked if they had any bacon available and this is what we got. Supporting local.

We took two vehicles to church so Brian went home to start doing more yard work while I stayed and chatted while my kids were in Sunday School. After church it was home to clean more and give Anna a shower.

I took Ella to fencing then the neighbors showed up for the Browns game. We had white vegan chili, steaks, and chicken buffalo dip.

By the time everyone left around 8pm it was time for the kids to wind down and to clean up the kitchen and prep for a new day.
