First Day of School

Hey loves. Today was my kids first day back to school. It was a rough morning. We had been practicing all week but today didn't go as planned. One child ended up having to run to the bus stop but it all worked out. Prayers they all have a wonderful first day and the hiccup of the morning doesn't effect the rest of their day.

It's time for new beginnings and fresh starts. There can also be a quiet sense of dread. The return of schedules, expectations, full calendars. It is a shift, whether we are ready or not. They are off to school.

Anna started 2nd grade. She was nervous because she hadn't met her teacher yet. Her teacher wasn't at open house as she was moving her daughter into college. I met her teacher yesterday as I was helping at the Back to School luncheon sponsored by the PTA and she was very nice. Anna also was at the bus stop 20 minutes early because she was so excited.

Austin is going into 5th grade. New school with having 9 periods, changing classes, and having a locker. So much more responsibility and growing up in our very near future. Minus today Austin had been waking up getting ready, eating and out the door by the time he needed to. Then Brian and him would go for a walk around the block. This morning Austin was also nervous and moving at the pace of a snail. I am sure once he got to his homeroom that everything will be good.

Ella is a Freshman. How the heck do I have a freshman. She is my pro of being independent, getting herself and all her stuff ready and waiting for me to leave. Now that she is in high school there is no more busing. I now have a new hat of being her daily taxi driver to and from school.

I pray they have a wonderful first day. Make new friends, don't get lost, and having fun. So many new adventures coming this school year.
