Hello Monday

Hey loves. Happy Monday. How was your weekend? The weekend went by way too fast, but we had a good weekend. Ready for a 5 days of school with hopefully a little relaxing.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.

Friday August 21

First Day home without kids. It was weird to have a quiet house but it was nice to clean and not turn around to another mess. I spent most of the day cleaning. In between I ran to Michaels for a pick-up, Dunkin for a Pumpkin Mocha Latte, and picked up an Instacart order from Aldi. Then back home to cleaning. With our new school schedules I also have to drop off and pick up Ella from school.

I was supposed to make sourdough pizza crust and never got around to it with all the cleaning. Instead I decided I would pick up Master's Pizza on my way back from dropping off Ella.

Ella was going to the first away football game. It was a "green out" theme. She went all out with her theming. She is even wearing Brian's jersey when he played football in high school.

This girl is giving me grey hair. She has decided a few times recently to cut her own hair. Her latest cut is giving herself bangs. I am thankful they are longer, but she is already aggravated with them in her face.

Our neighbors and Brian's brother came over for the kids to play. The girls played Barbies, hide and go seek, on the trampoline and had a dance party. I am so happy they cleaned up Anna's room when they were finished since I spent a few hours cleaning it earlier in the day.

The boys played outside being boys and helped keep the fire going. Brian is slowing burning wood that is old gross, buggy, etc.

Saturday August 21

For the first time this summer, well now end of summer we out of as a family of 5 on a morning adventure. First tried 7 Brew for coffee our city just got one a few months ago. I got a banana bread cold brew and was not impressed with it, I actually only drank half of it and threw it away. Ella got a brunette and she thought it was too sweet. Brian a mocha latte with coconut milk and it was delicious. After grabbing drinks we went to Brueggers for bagels for breakfast. We took them to go and sat at tablets at Crocker Park. When we were finished eating Ella went and did some window shopping at Nordstrom Rack and Macy's looking for homecoming dresses.
We also walked through the farmers market where Brian grabbed some BBQ sauce and hot sauce. Then drove over to Trader Joes and did a little shopping before we headed home. Brian and Austin had about 10 minutes before they had to leave for baseball.

The big event of the day or even year. We drove out to Pinecrest in Orange, Ohio to visit Roman, piercing studio. They are a friendly studio that all the piercers are nurses. They have spring loaded guns or needle options.

Anna finally got her ears pierced and they used the gun. We had the option to have them down at the same time compared to one after that other. I was afraid that if we did one after the other she wouldn't want the second one done. Also I say finally because we have been talking about getting her ears pierced for two years.

She did so good and had no tears. She was a little nervous when they were doing it and I thought she was going to cry but they were done before you knew it.

Anna also picked out white flowers. We have to clean her ears 2-3 times a day and spin the earrings everyday. In 6 to 10 weeks we can change them out.

Anna's best friend and our neighbor meet us up there and she got her ears pierced too.

Ella also got a piercing. She wanted her helix done. Originally we planned on getting both of her ears pierced but they talked her out of getting both because she doesn't sleep on her back. I said we would do one then come back in a few weeks and get the other one done.

The whole day it had been storming on and off. Baseball ended up getting cancelled due to lighting after postponing it over an hour. After getting home from the piercings, Ella and I went to Great Northern mall to look for homecoming dresses. She tried on a bunch, figured out what size she is and what color and style she wants. Now to find exactly what she wants is going to be easier said than done. While at the mall we all got alerts for a tornado warning. I called Brian and he was it was heading for where we were to head north aka home. We ran/walked to the car and started driving home. Here is a picture of the cloud that could potentially produce a tornado. When we got home the storm was actually really close to our house.

We ended up getting some wind, hail the size of a grape, and rain. Thankfully it never turned into a tornado.

Our original plan for the evening was to go to a local Oktoberfest with our neighbors. Their son is terrified of storms and refused to leave the house even though the storm had already passed. We ended up going to Shake Shack for a late dinner then home for PJs and relaxing.

Sunday August 24

I had a rough nights sleep. I ended up getting up at 6, which is after I normally get up for school. I went downstairs to read, then 5 minutes later Brian is texting me that Anna woke up and is in our bed wanting her mommy. I went back upstairs to cuddle with her until 7am before we got ready for church.

We went to the 830 service at church because it was the praise service, we prefer the praise service over the traditional service because of the music selection and the dancing for Anna.

After church we got stuff done around the house. I went through so many emails that have just been piling up throughout the week and Brian started working on the garage project so one day I can have my parking space back.

Anna had a cheerleading camp for a few hours. Ella's boyfriend came over for a few hours. Austin played with his friend.

Our neighborhood had a back to school pot luck. This was the 4th year they have done it. We went the first year but our schedules didn't fit the last two years. It was nice to see some moms and talk that we usually only see in passing. Anna ran around with some new friends. Austin and Brian only stayed a little bit. After a hectic crazy few months it was a nice slow down with new but old friends.

Then it was showers, bedbime stories, and bed.
