Hello Monday on a Tuesday Camping Edition

Hey loves. Happy Tuesday. We made the best of the long weekend and last weekend camping for the year. Friday my kids had no school so we left Thursday right after school to enjoy the gorgeous fall weather.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.

Thursday October 8

Thursday ended up being a crazy day. I spent the morning before work packing the rest of our stuff into the camper. Then leaving Brian with lists of food that needed packed and prepped still. Then I headed off to work. I felt stressed and that we were forgetting something the whole day.  While at work I got a phone call from Austin that he got hit in the face with a ball at recess and broke his glasses. I asked him if he needed to be picked up or bring him a space pair up and he said no he would be fine.

I got off work and picked up Ella from school. Austin got home from school and Brian finished packing the truck and camper. Austin and Brian left while I waited for Anna to get home. Anna ended up going to art club after school, even though I didn't send a note for her to stay late, so we didn't leave until closer to 5, where Brian and Austin left at 330. By the time the girls and I got to the campground Brian and Austin had the campsite set up.

The plan for dinner was chicken, broccoli and potato pouches to put on the fire. The kids got impatient waiting for the fire so I ended up making a few of them on the stove. To my surprise they all enjoyed them and ate it all. Next time I will have to add more food.

Dinner #2 per Ella's request was pizza pies. Ella was only with us one night and this was the one thing she wanted. Last year Brian and I tried making grilled cheese pies and failed so I was very hesitant of having pizza pies as dinner but instead had them as a dessert aka dinner #2.

Ella took the lead of making the pizza pies and did great. None of them were burnt and everyone ate them. (I had a bite)

My parents gave us the lights we use to have on our camper growing up. To my surprise they still work. We have smiley faces and pumpkin heads.

As it was a school night and it was getting cold we were all in the camper by 9pm. The kids watched a little of a movie (we bought a DVD player and a new TV), I read, and Brian watched the Guardians game on his tablet.

Friday October 9

It was a chilly night but great sleeping weather. The temps dropped down to the low 40s, I am happy that our heater worked. We all slept in until after 730.

The girls brushed each others hair getting ready for the day.

Brian made coffee and breakfast on the griddle. We had bacon burritos.
After breakfast I laid down on the concrete pad and do a bunch of stretching, so yoga, and Pilates. Even though we bought a new mattress for the camper it still wasn't my bed and I wake up sore.

Brian and I went for a walk to check out the pool and get our feel on the layout of the campground. I found a coffin in the pavilion.

Afterwards I relaxed at the site for a bit while the kids went for a bike ride, played at the playground and sand pit.

Friday the kids had off school. Our tradition is to go to a pumpkin patch. We decided to try a different patch this year.

Burnhams website said they were open on Friday so we went. We get there and find out not everything would be operating. (no hay ride, jumbo slide, or bounce pillow) We were disappointed that this wasn't stated online anywhere.

But we still had fun. We ended up enjoying all the activities and were there for an hour and a half.

The actual cider house wasn't open but we were still able to buy a can. This was a little two sweet for my liking.

After the pumpkin patch we went back to the camper and had sandwiches for lunch. Then I took Anna and Austin to the indoor pool while Brian did some work. Ella didn't want to go swimming but she went and sat with me.

I had to drive Ella to her dads as it was his weekend. Brian ended up going swimming with Anna and Austin while I was away.

Then it was dinner time. I had picked up nacho cheese and cool ranch hard shells at Walmart earlier in the week. They were not that good. Honestly they both tasted stale.

A walk before it got dark.

Ended the night with a fire and counting all the stars.

Saturday October 10

The night was a little warmer and we all slept good. We had bagel sandwiches for breakfast then relaxed. I did more stretching on the concrete. Anna and Austin watched Incredibles 2 while they waited for it to warm up outside to go play.

Their favorite thing about the campground besides the indoor pool was the sand pit. It was more like a mix of sand and pebbles.

I got a notification that Ella stopped driving. I knew she was going camping with her dad's mom, but she didn't know where they were going. To my surprise she was at the same campground.

first activity of the day at the campground was a "Walk to the pumpkin patch". The kids watched 50 feet to a field that had pumpkins placed all over. When they counted down the kids ran and got to pick out a pumpkin.

All the pumpkins were the perfect size for carving so everyone was happy.

We had a few  hours until the kids Halloween party so we went to a local winery.

Brian and I shared a sampler then ended up getting a bottle. My favorite was the pinnacle, but we got a  bottle of the red apple which is similar to a rose.

Earlier I braided and wet Anna's hair so it would be curly for her Halloween costume. She wanted it even curlier but this would do for Halloween at the campground.

We found what they were doing with the coffin.
The kids Halloween party they had hot dogs and ice cream. They did a costume contest.

Anna took an action shot of Austin in his Star Wars costume.
I don't know which character he is. The costume was $2. Austin hadn't decided what he wanted to be for Halloween and I wasn't spending a bunch of money for him to not wear it.

Have you seen a Blow up Dino on an electric scooter before?

Ella came and helped me with doing Anna's make-up and tattoos. Really I just asked if she had eyeliner that was cheap, next thing I know she is at our camper and using my good eyeliner and mascara to put make-up and tattoos on Anna.
Anna is Willa the Vampire from the Disney Zombies movie.

They had fun trick or treating. Anna filled her own basket.

We had a fire with the couple next to us. They are selling their camper and decided to have a large fire and use up the rest of his wood. They also have Brian and I a drink. (Brian had been talking with the guy all weekend)

It eventually started raining. There was a haunted walk that we had planned on going to but the kids didn't want to do it in the rain.

Sunday October 11

It rained most of the night and morning. We had taken down the lights and awning, put away chairs and cleaned up what we could outside before it started raining. We woke up and had sausage biscuit gravy for breakfast. Brian had made it before we left so it only needed reheated.

We played a few hands of Uno waited for the rain to slow down then cleaned and loaded everything to head home. We were home by 1045, the campground is about 40 minutes from home.
Then it was unpacking, laundry, showers, and the Cleveland Browns game.
Sunday evening Brian and I went to a dinner charity event for our church. His mom came to our house to watch the kids and had them asleep by 830. We were home by 9 and exhausted.
