Hey loves. Happy Monday. We have a 3 day weekend over here and potentially a 4 day off with wind chills below -20 tomorrow. Hope you had a great weekend. I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend and a little beyond.
Wednesday
From the time the kids left school and got home (which is about 10 minutes) the ground was covered. The snow continued all evening. We had a feeling there wouldn't be school on Thursday so we ended up hanging out with the neighbors and the kids all played outside in the snow.
The kids played and the parents had a drink and watched sports. We ended up getting the call for school being closed at 10, which was why later than our kids bedtime so we are thankful they did call it. Most of the schools in the area cancelled way before us.
Thursday
After a late night we all slept in. The kids didn't get up until after 8 and I was like 820. Brian made pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Then Austin and Brian went outside to start shoveling the 8 inches of snow we got. The neighbor dads with two shovels and one snow blower got to work cleaning all 3 houses driveways and sidewalks.
After all the boys were done with the snow and came inside to warm up, Anna decided she wanted to go outside. The first time I checked on her she said "look mom I helped with the driveway"
Before she came in the big beautiful snowflakes started to fall and she decided she wanted to try and catch some, which Anna did.
Our houses ended up being the hangout for the day with the neighbors and all the kids. We had no white wines chilled. The snow became the perfect spot to quickly chill the and not take up space in my fridge that was already stuffed.
We had the fire going and watched movies from the Taylor Swift concert, The Proposal, Ticket to Paradise and Super Troopers.
I had a little cuddler that fell asleep at like 630, way to late for a nap, but she is a B without one. She woke up and I was sitting next to hear and she crawled into me to cuddle. Her mommy was away on a business trip for work.
Friday
Back to school and reality. I took off Thursday from work with the snow day, so I had to go in for a few hours on Friday to get everything done for Sunday services.
At work we also had a crew in inspecting windows. With that the doors were unlocked, which our church is only unlocked on Sundays during services. (it is unfortunate the world we live in that we cannot safely leave the church unlocked during the day. ) We had a homeless guy come in and just loiter. We gave him food, drinks, offered to help get him to a shelter (which he refused), and offered some other means (all of which he refused). He wanted one of us to personally drive him somewhere which was over an hour away and wouldn't take an uber/left. Unfortunately no one was able to take him. After 4 hours and all the staff leaving the church we had to force him to leave. I feel so bad for this man, but when he refuses everything that we have to offer there isn't much we can do.
After work I swung by Aldi for Instacart pick - up. Then relaxed at home.
Brian and I had dinner with our church Tables for 8 group, which is actually only 6 of us this time around. We went out for Mexican and had a nice time while Ella watched her siblings. Bonus they got along with no fighting.
I took no photos on Friday
Saturday
A slow start to our Saturday. I haven't been sleeping well so if I get the chance the past week I am sleeping in which means not waking up at 5 or 6am. I have been getting the best sleep from 430 on. Originally we didn't have snow in the forecast then we got a heavy snow squall that dropped a half an inch.
Austin finished his huge airplane Lego he got for Christmas. It only took him a few days, I expected it to take a lot longer.
During Anna's game Austin worked on tying his shoes. He has never mastered shoe tying but we never really worked on it with him since preschool (mom fail) All his shoes besides sports have been slip on.
Austin had his game. It was a good game but they ended up losing, but it was close. During Austin's game Anna played tic tac toe on her drawing pad with some other kids that were sitting by us.
After basketball I went home and took a nap. The kids played around the house, then Brian made dinner.
After dinner I took Ella to Target per her request to use some gift cards that are burning a hole in her pocket.
We came home to a fire, basketball, and the kids doing a puzzle.
Sunday
I got up early to make sure I could get a shower before the chaos of the day. Both Anna and Austin were up before 645 and full of energy and already fighting. We had a quick breakfast of eggs and toast before Brian headed off to church early because he was running the computer.
I took the time to do my make-up. I love the wellness boxes American made with European Standards make-up that is great quality and lightweight. Now if I could just get rid of my wrinkles because Anna doesn't like me being old.
At church we start in the pews, then they do the children's message and Anna runs off to the nursery with the other kids to play and for their own little Sunday school. Austin stays in the pews with me. At the end of the service all the kids get to join in for playing instruments or dancing with streamers (which is what you use a lot on my social media Anna dancing). After church was official Sunday School for Austin, Anna had her first- first communion class. Then we went home to relax for a while before heading to our neighbors for dinner.
Anna drew this message while waiting for the Children's service on her drawing tablet.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
