Not Just A Mom Comfort Food

Hey loves. Happy Monday. How was your weekend? We are over here knocking things off our to do list in preparation for hosting Thanksgiving. These are projects we had planned on doing eventually but this gave a kick in the butt to get it done and a deadline to get it done by. All I have to say is I hate wallpaper, I hate contractors who take shortcuts and do stupid work, and I don't know if my fingers will ever not have glue on them. Why would you not paint before apply wallpaper so we are ripping off dry wall, why was the fireplace put in after the baseboards and wallpaper? So many questions.

It's the second Monday of the month which means it's time for Not Just A Mom link up with these amazing ladies: DaraJenJoannaLauren, and Sarah.

This month we are sharing our Comfort Foods

I am in a big comfort food kick. I am eating what I enjoy, with still limiting my dairy because I know I am intolerant. I am baking all the sourdough everything from bagels to bread to cookies. If it contains flour then I am trying it with sourdough. Every Saturday I call Slow Cooker Soup Saturday. I throw a soup in the slow cooker in the morning and I don't have to worry about making dinner

I am finding that my kids are loving comfort food too. I made Chicken Pot Pie soup and Loaded Broccoli Cheese Potato Soup that she had multiple times. I also have the habit of adding more veggies into recipes in hopes my kids don't notice and they haven't so far.

Here are a few of our families favorite recipes:

What are your favorite comfort foods?

  1. Yum! These all sound delicious! We have soup once a week this time of year but I have 2 boys that won't eat it (though 1 will eat chicken noodle). Luckily they are old enough to fend for themselves.

  2. Chicken Pot Pie reminds me that I should have included Shepherd's Pie on my list!

  3. Oh, I love the idea of designating one day a week "Soup Day." For me though, it might have to be Sundays.
